Traditionally it has been used to treat cancers and tumors.

Aphrodisiac Properties of Aframomum melegueta

The seeds of Aframomum melegueta have been shown through experimental study to have a significant effect on the penile erection index by enhancing vasodilation in the penile tissues. This increases blood flow to the penis which achieves harder erections. It also increases serum concentrations of testosterone. A higher level of testosterone (male sex hormone) increases the man’s desires for sex.

Taking between 250 mg and 1 gm. of the seeds of Aframomum melegueta about an hour before sexual activity yields the best results.  Alternatively use 2.5mg/kg to 10mg/kg of body weight two times a day for consistent results.
